Thanks for the term correction. I did indeed have it wrong, and I'll use
the term more carefully in the future. 

I was arguing simply that we should not expect this text to attempt
perfection. The writing is simply sloppy. 

Heck, even EROS isn't perfect.  Though that will, of course, be fixed in
2.0 :-)
